***FASHION FRIDAY*** Just Two Colors!

Just Two Colors!!

A very simple but great way to look slimmer is to dress in just two colors.

One way of doing this is like this

Nothing to it, but again, it has all the basics needed in your wardrobe and a very classic and slimming look!

You can also flip it and make the color on the inside different like this...

Just because it's Friday...I'll make a fool of myself for ya!
I'm supposed to be "flexing" for ya, but now that I see it looks like I'm trying to be a gorilla...I'm awesome.
This is a great way to dress and the key to making it a statement look...it's your accessories you add to it!!

Have a great weekend!

***FASHION FRIDAY*** Long Necklace & Ta-Tas

Long Necklace & Ta-Tas!!

Don't get all squirm-ish with the work "ta-tas" being in the title of this post...this is a really good fashion tip and you won't want to miss it.

***excuse the picture in this post, they are embarressingly bad but this

week has been insanely busy and it was a last minute thing last night at 10pm!***

First off...I need to know if you meet any of these "symptoms"

- Are you "blessed" with larger ta-tas?

- Do you like to wear longer necklaces or have this feeling that you wish you could?

- Do you feel like when you combine your overly blessed ta-tas and long necklaces that the necklace just ends up drawing attention to the grand canyon between the ta-tas and the necklace doesn't lay right?

If you answered yes to all of these questions...I have the solution for you!

Do you remember when I was doing the Wardrobe 101 series and I showed you what tops to have in  your closet?

Cami's

Well Cami's are great because you can use them for layering, changing up your wardrobe...but they are also great for preventative work...like great canyons in the northern region if you catch my drift!
Get it??  Drift...ya know cause your necklace drifts inward???  HAHAHA???  ahhh...oooook movin' on!

Got a shirt you want to wear and want to wear a long necklace with it but you have this problem?

Where a cami underneath the top you want to wear...

And BOOM!  No more grand canyon or accenting the ta-ta's anymore!

Got a problem with your necklace wanting to "frame" the ta-ta's?

Just shorten your necklace some...

No more framing...because it's not longer possible!

AMAZING???

You're welcome!  ;)

Last night was the first night of week 2 of my training, and thanks to my awesome neighbor Danielle for watching Miss H, I was able to get my 3.5 mile run in!!!

what the temp was when I left...and it quickly dropped over the next 40 minutes

really dark out!
It was "warmer" yesterday than what it had been lately so I put on shorts and a long sleeve tec shirt and headed out.  Brought my phone but no music for safety reasons.  I didn't want to go too far out and so I just stayed in my little part of my neighborhood since it was dark out already, which was insane when I looked back at my path...let's just say I did about 5 loops last night on the run.  Just needed to get the miles in!!!

The first mile my right leg was tight and felt heavy to pick up and I was worried I wouldn't be able to go the 3.5 miles.  Note to self...you gotta wear your boot more dummy!

Thankfully though after 2 miles that went away and I was able to keep truckin' along.  I felt pretty good actually during most of the run besides my right leg being tight and that just amazes me.  Three miles is starting to become "normal" for my body to be able to handle.  WOW!  Never thought I'd think that.

It got chilly and chilly quick and the wind started to pick up.  I was fine for the most part, but when I was going into the wind were the only times I really wished I hadn't worn shorts...but I survived!!  Also was weird running in the dark.  I've done it before but never on my own.  My neighborhood is pretty safe I would say but you just never know and I definitely kept my eyes open and alert for what was going on around me.

I finished right in front of my house and I was tired and thankful it was done, but shortly after I was done I realized I wasn't as tired as what I thought I was.  I am definitely ready to start picking up my miles and running further.

Training plan this weekend - Saturday 3 miles, Monday 3.5 miles!!

Love me some frozen veggies...for more reasons than just eating!

Happy Friday Y'all!!

***Fashion Friday*** Black & Gold!!

Fashion Friday

~ Black & Gold~

I have finally jumped on the black and gold, black and brown phase and I LOVE IT!!!!

Like I love it so much I could marry it and be with it FOREVA...kinda love!

Silver was on the rave forever it seems and now gold is coming back with a major bang and I wear gold now more than I wear silver it seems.

I used to say I wore gold with more earth tones (browns, greens, red, etc) but now I wear it with everything.  I'm obsessed, I tell ya.

pintest - this is premier's jewelry by the way

wow I look hot this morning (not!)

much better!

I don't know what it is, but I just think it looks so classy and makes a huge statement.  It takes confidence to pull off the look which we all have and should rock constantly!

Love me some black and gold tones and you should too!  It's everywhere this season!

Day 1 of Turkey Trot Training

Day 1
Last night I did Day 1 of my training plan for the Turkey Trot.  Three easy slow miles which were tough.  My legs were tight, even though I stretched out pretty good before I left, I was still tight.  I stopped a few times to stretch out my caves or hamstrings so my time is off here but all that I care is that I ran 3 miles.  I'm not running for time here, I'm just running to complete it.

Last night I took a different path that I've never had the courage to do because half of it is on a road with no sidewalks and part of it has no extra space on the sides for runners/walkers.  It's kind of dangerous and scary and I've avoided it just because I was nervous and a big ole chicken but not last night.  Some drivers I wasn't sure if they were going to get over or slow down for me at all, one I made sure to wave at as they drove by maybe a foot away from me...jerk!  But I ran against the traffic so I could see what was coming at me and could run in the grass if need be.

However, even though it was a tough run when I turned down the street close to my house and saw my ending point, I became overwhelmingly proud of myself, seeing that part of my run and knowing how far I've come to get here was an amazing feeling.  I still can't believe I can run 3 miles and plan on working up to 5.  wow, just wow!

Best thing of the whole night was getting this text from my BFF...put a smile on my face.

Sometimes I feel like I look like an idiot out there and think I probably look like I don't know what I'm doing, and last night was especially one of those nights because I ran on a main road with a lot of people passing me on my run so her text was perfect!

Have a great weekend!

***Fashion Friday*** & more!

I was lazy awesome this week with not feeling well and so I slacked on my Fashion Friday post.  So here it is...in good ole' lazy Sarah fashion in one picture...here it is...

TaDa!!!!!!!!!!
Impressed much???

No?  Whaaaaat??

Guess I'll need to explain for my fellow blonde sisters out there.  Last week we covered scarves and I'm pretty much in full-mode with wearing them every every other day because I love them.  I'm no fashionista but I love simple fashion and scares are simple fashion in my mind.

Today I just have a simple black cotton T on from Kohls and I pair it with a red scarf for some color.  But what this Fashion Friday post is about is the fact that you can still wear a necklace with a scarf and I highly recommend it.  It's another one of those ways that just makes you look like you know what your doing that much more!  Long necklaces is where it's act girlfriends!

Frame those scarves with a long necklace.  Yes you are allowed to do this!  And it looks great!  Don't skip out on the necklace just because you have a scarf on.  I know I say this all the time...but trust me!!!  You'll look fabulous darling just fabulous!

So there ya have it....my simple fashion tip for the week in just one picture!

*******************************

Other news...and more pictures....last night I did the 30DS again...I'm really digging the weight lifting thing more and more.  I'm sweaty and tired and my muscles are shaking when I'm done...it's like a big bowl of chocolate ice cream....well...sorda but not really.  Anywho...

Miss H grabbed my phone while I was working out and she thought she'd be miss paparazzi

hilarious...I look like I'm blown up like a balloon in the far right picture because I'm doing either jumping jacks or jump rope.
So there's the proof that I did workout last night.  AND I stayed within my calorie intake yesterday.

Rock Star!!!!

What's in my lunch box for today
Also packed my lunch last night and I'm pretty excited about it....not gonna lie.

Breakfast - Plain greek yogurt with granola and honey
Morning snack - Laughing cow cheese - have you laughed today??
Lunch - awesome salad with cauliflower, cucumbers and cherry tomatoes and light french dressing and my Luna Bar
Afternoon snack - apple

Yum Yum!!

Have a great weekend y'all!  We are heading to the pumpkin patch this weekend!

Mama Sarah's ***FASHION FRIDAY*** Scarves

*~* SCARVES *~*

I am so excited about this topic...I super happy heart LOVE scarves!!!!

Why I am I obsessed in love with scares?

1. They keep you warm!  Which means I can go longer before I am forced to wear a winter coat.

2. They are another way I can take my solid color tops and add some spice to it or color!

3.  They show your personality and make a statement without hardly any effort!  (perfect for me because I'm lazy!)

I just pulled some ideas from pinterest because I think it helps to see the whole outfit on how to put together a great look and it starts with your scarf.

Couple of things to notice...ALL the tops are pretty solid/"boring" colors/tops but look how the scarf pulls it all together.

Love this look, a busy scarf (patterned) is much more useful than a patterned top.  This scarf you could also wear with any other color that in it and get a different look each time!

Gotta wear green on St Patty's day...pull out a scarf!  Way cheaper than finding a new top.

I do this look A LOT!  I'm crazy about grey but I wear color with it a lot.  You could wear this same top and pants with any color of scarf!

Plain black scarf just adds the right amount of something to a plain white sweater

Scarves help  you go from summer to fall/winter.  A LOT of my dresses/short sleeves tops I wear with a cardigan and scarves in the winter.

Another look I do a lot of!  Basic jeans, top and sweater, add some color with the accessories

A dressier look

Love this!!!  Another great way to add color

I am on the hunt of this look!  I have the scarf, I just need the top!  Notice how you do a busy scarf with solid color tops or a busy top with a solid color scarf.  Also notice how this girl has on a big watch and lots of bracelets.  I do this a lot when wearing a scarf...big earrings and lots of attention to my wrists!

Where do I find scarves at?  ANYWHERE!!!

I am not a snob about scarves!  I just always keep my eye out for them.  Kohls, Target, NY&Co, Walmart (yup!), literally anywhere.  Scarves are so popular that every store carries them.

One tip I do have when looking for scarves is make sure the length is long enough.  When I wear a scarf I want the length to hit me in the waist once I've tied it.  I'm just funny about it but I prefer longer scarves but I'm sure it all depends on each person's individual preference.

Not sure how to tie a scarf?

A video is nice to watch because you can pause it.

My favorite ways to wear a scarf according to the video are called:

Modern Loop
Infinity
European Loop
Magic Trick
Fake Knot
Decoration

Have a great weekend!  We are headed off to a wedding this weekend and I'll be sure to post pictures on Monday!

Don't forget your scarves this weekend!!

**FASHION FRIDAY** - Necklace Placement

FASHION FRIDAY - Necklace Placement

This Friday we are going to talk about an area that just drives me bonkers!  And if you happen to do this...don't take offense you just didn't know and that's a-o-kay in my book!  But don't let it happen again!
mmkay pumpkin??  :)

Yes I have been known to just go up and randomly fix someone's necklace because it's wrong (mom!) but I promise I won't do it to a complete stranger...but if you are at one of my jewelry shows...sorry all bets are off!
I gotta make sure you girls are lookin' good!!

You might think I'm crazy here and I'm the one needing help at the end of this post but I think you're going to see that there is a right way to where a necklace and it makes a big difference.  (at least I think it does)

First let's go over a few neck-lines of tops I'm going to cover.

There they are...nothing special..but just so you know the difference.  The biggest thing to know is to place a necklace ABOVE or BELOW your neckline....NEVER EVER EVER!!!  AT Your neckline

Did you get that??  Your necklace either needs to be ABOVE It and I mean ALL of it or way below that neckline.

Here's some examples of what NOT to do.

Left - Crew neck - If you wear your necklace like this...99% of the time your necklace will fall into your shirt and you'll be pulling it out constantly.  It doesn't show your shirt well or your necklace.

Middle - Square neck with jacket - This one isn't terrible but I would still like to see the necklace above or below the neckline more.

Right - V-Neck - This is just WRONG!  Oh my heavens this about puts me into a tizzy.  NO NO NO!

Some of you may be instantly coming up with excuses to defend your necklace placement and girls...there is no excuse!  :)  I know your neck may be fat (been there) or the necklace just doesn't go long enough...

Here's a little secret

What is that?  It's an EXTENDER!!!
Two inches of glory that will help you get your necklace where it should be!  Don't have one?  Typically you can find them in the jewelry section of any store, find a Premier jeweler close to you, OR just use a plain silver/gold bracelet you already have at home.  It doesn't matter what it is...no one will see it if it's on the back of your neck hidden behind a jacket or a collar or your hair.

So how should we wear our necklaces on the various necklines?  Check it out below!

Crew neck

See the different between these and the above left picture?  Yeah?!?

Crew neck

I personally prefer long necklaces with crew necklines just because I know the placement will be fine.  Long necklaces with a crew neck is a no brainer...you can't screw it up!

Boatneck

Oh boatnecks...I love you!  It's another one that you really can't mess up.  Everything looks classy on them.  But again, notice where the necklace is according to where the neckline is.  Never AT the neckline.

Square neckline with a jacket (but could be any neckline)

We are entering fall and jackets are a must in our wardrobe's right??  When I wear a jacket I tend to go a little "heavier" with my necklace and wear bolder pieces.  Why?  Because I think the jacket kind of "hides" some of the boldness and makes me feel more comfortable with the bigger pieces.
With jackets, I tend to wear longer necklaces just because I like the verticle lines it creates right along the opening of my jacket.  1 verticle line is great...2 is awesome!

Scoop neck

Scoop neck is another pretty easy one to figure out.  You're either IN or OUT of that neckline.  Which is kind of what it is for every top.  Just depends if you want to draw attention up (short necklace) or if you want to create a verticle line.  I'm short in my torso so I tend to wear longer necklaces just because I like that it gives this illusion that I'm taller.  Either way you will look great!

Square neck

Square neckline is also similar to above...notice how nice it looks with the right placement!

V-neck

Look at this middle picture compared to the one I showed above that was way wrong.  Doesn't that look better??  Your necklace and top are complimenting each other not fighting for attention.  With a v-neck I love to wear a necklace that compliments that shape so I tend to wear a necklace that's in a V shape or adding a pendant to one (like the middle pic).  And once you get comfortable with wearing a necklace you can even pull off wearing something above and below the neckline (picture on the right).

Hopefully I haven't confused you.

The biggest rule of thumb is...never let your necklace and neckline meet at the same point.

Always above or below and I won't be chasing you trying to fix  your necklace for you!  :)

Have a great weekend!!!
